When to go
December–April is high season. Summer and fall are quieter, hotter, and inside hurricane season. St. John campgrounds and park beaches book ahead in winter.
How to get there
STT (St. Thomas) is the main airfield; STX serves St. Croix. U.S. citizens: no passport (see territory entry). St. John is a ferry from Red Hook, not a rental-car surprise. Drive on the left.
Neighborhood / area split
Charlotte Amalie / St. Thomas if you have a short connection. Cruz Bay / St. John for Virgin Islands National Park beaches. St. Croix for a different, larger island with Christiansted and Frederiksted. Do not try to “do all three” in four nights.
Budget vs splurge
Budget: St. Thomas guesthouse, ferry day to St. John, park beaches, groceries. Splurge: a St. John stay inside walking or short-taxi range of Trunk or Cinnamon, knowing rooms are limited.

Same Atlantic hurricane calendar as Puerto Rico. Coral and park rules matter more than a packing-list influencer.
Crypto and residency
The USVI uses a mirror income-tax code. The Economic Development Commission program can cut territorial income tax — commonly described as a 90% reduction — for approved businesses with real jobs, payroll, and presence. That is not a personal “move and your coins are 0%” switch, and it is not Puerto Rico Act 60.
